WP3 DEV - DESIGN OF A FRAMEWORK FOR QA OF HEIs' CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMMES
WP Leader: AALTO - Lifelong Learning Institute Dipoli
Start Date: April 2010
Duration: 12 months
The objective of the WP is to determine the main components of a QA system which addresses the specific needs and issues of continuing education programmes in order to design an overall framework for quality assurance of continuing education programmes in line with QA requirements and with respect to the critical success factors selected in WP2.
Milestone 1 - PREPARATORY ACTIVITIES
The WP leader will draft a first structure of the framework and each individual partner will be responsible to develop one particular basic component of the quality assurance system to be discussed during a seminar by the Core Group members and by teaching staff directly concerned with management and design of these programmes.
Milestone 2 - SEMINAR
Starting from general insights into minimum requirements of QA systems in higher education and the specific context and characteristics of continuing education programmes the general framework will be worked out and finetuned during this seminar (organized in working groups). Different actors and stakeholders will be involved and opinions and concrete experiences will be collected through a bottom-up methodology. The Core Group will make a synthesis of the various components of the quality assurance system.
Milestone 3 - SEMINAR FOLLOW UP AND DESIGN OF THE FRAMEWORK
Taking into consideration the final results of the Seminar, the Core Group will further elaborate the framework.
