WP2 DEV - ANALYSIS STAGE
WP Leader: K.U.Leuven
Start: November 2009
Duration: 6 months
In order to establish a common understanding amongst all partners, the starting point will be the identification of the specific characteristics of continuing education programmes, within the partner Universities/Institutes, that are particularly relevant for the design of a QA system. Subsequently an analysis of approaches will be made. The results will provide the necessary basis to design the framework in WP3. Throughout the analysis stage, the “ENQA Standards and guidelines” and other existing surveys in this field will be used as benchmarks.
Milestone 1 - CORE GROUP WORKSHOP 1/Analysis
This first workshop will provide a common understanding of the focus and approaches of the pre-study to be carried out by each partner and the elaboration of criteria for the selection of best practices. The WP leader (K.U.Leuven) will develop and present at the workshop a template to be used by the partners during the pre-study stage.
Milestone 2 - PRE-STUDY BY EACH HEIs IN THE CONSORTIUM
Each partner will deliver a written report with the results of their own pre-study. It will be focused on context specific characteristics of continuing education courses and on challenges and issues in the development of QA.
Milestone 3 – SYNTHESIS OF THE PRE-STUDY
In preparation for the second analysis Core Group Workshop, a synthesis will be made of the pre-studies in order to identify transnational commonalities and differences throughout partner contexts. This synthesis and the pre-studies reports will be organised in an intermediate report.
Milestone 4 - CORE GROUP WORKSHOP 2/Analysis
The Core Group will discuss:
1. reports by each partner on the prestudy to foster a mutual understanding of contexts, practices and challenges and to share good practices
2. the comparative report developed by the WP leader
3. critical success factors on the basis of good practices.
